The history of art

Anna Maria's art does not stem from an ambition to become an artist, but from a necessary shift.

For many years she worked as a doctor and later with people in deep life crises. A working life characterized by responsibility, pace and the needs of others eventually took its toll on her body. When she herself was hit by stress, it became clear that something had to change.

The way back was through nature and the company of horses. Here she found a space without words, where peace and presence arise by themselves.

It was not a method, but an experience. A way of being in the world that did not require explanation or performance.

Later, in adulthood, Anna Maria was diagnosed with autism spectrum disorder. This gave her a new perspective on both her life and her way of perceiving the world. It became clear that her strength lay in the intuitive, the visual and the nonverbal. Not in adapting to systems, but in creating from within.

Art became a place to gather it all. The experiences of a life of responsibility, rupture and reconstruction found form in color, symbolism and movement. Not as stories to be understood, but as moods to be felt.

Horses play a central role in many of the works. For Anna Maria, they represent presence, regulation and strength without words. They carry a calmness that cannot be imposed, but arises in relationship. This is the quality that her art revolves around.

The legacy of her Polish and Russian roots lives on as a quiet undercurrent in her work. A sense of longing, depth and something timeless that cannot be placed unambiguously. It is not a conscious choice, but part of her way of seeing and creating.

Today Anna Maria works in her studio surrounded by nature and animals. Here works are created that do not seek quick attention, but slow connection. Art that does not explain, but gives space. Art that can live with people over time and become part of their space and rhythm.
